Charles Oliver Nutter has worked on JRuby and JVM languages for the past ten years, and for the past three at Red Hat. He wants to make the JVM the best and most open platform for language development now and into the future.

Since the release of Java 7, the JVM has been evolving at a rapid pace. New features for Java, JVM support for dynamic languages, improved tools and other improvements are breathing new life into this twenty-year-old platform.
